I was standing with two people that I know and I am very close with one day. On this day however, there wasn’t a lot of banter and chatter. Rather, a silence settled in the room. I looked at both these people and I could see that their minds were somewhere else.
Though we shared the same physical space, we were not really present in the moment because each of us were immersed in our own realities which were distinctly different. That week, we each had our own unique challenges….unique realities.
Sometimes we feel alone even when we are among friends and family. This is because we do not think that they share or even understand our own realities and our own world despite our best efforts to explain. Somehow, words are not sufficient to describe how we feel, what we are going though. Sometimes, even we ourselves do not understand why we feel the way we feel.
Who then can we introduce to our world who would understand how it works? Why we act the way we do , and why we feel the way we do? Perhaps, a person who has had the same experience or challenge would come pretty close to understanding our reality… this is the reason why support groups are very useful.
There is someone that comes even closer. Actually, He understands the situation even more than you do. Because…He made you. Nobody can understand you better than Jesus. He completely gets it, and He gets it even without you saying a word. The Bible says, “for we don’t have a High priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all – all but sin” You can find that in Hebrews chapter four verse fifteen.
Do you feel alone in the midst of a crowd? Do you feel like you can’t fit in because nobody ‘gets it’? Well, Jesus does, and He knows exactly what you need, and not what you think you need. He knows the thing that is missing,
He knows exactly what you require to get you to the place where you need to be. So, ask Him to help you. He promised that He would.
